1961 F69 UNCIRCULATED 20 PESOS
As Miami Cubans were getting ready for the
"Bay of Pigs" invasion in April 1961.
The US government for
a CIA backed operations in the invasion printed counterfeit 20 pesos banknotes. Each member of the invasion was reported to have been issued one hundred each of those counterfeits. These banknotes were given to the 1200 Cubans who participated in the invasion and also to other Cubans who after the invasion continued to run arms to Cuba. These counterfeit notes had series F69 and F70.
This is an F69 note - serials will vary
